Catholic School Council 2012 / 2013

The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board's 2012 Edition of Catholic School Council Guidelines states "the purpose of Catholic School Councils is...to improve pupil achievment and to enhance the accountability of the education system to parents..." (pg1).

The CMCSC is comprised of parents of students at Canadian Martyrs, plus representatives from the teaching staff. Our objective is to generate and maintain the goodwill and support of student families. Parent Council members help to inform and promote the welfare and advancement of the school, and to encourage families to participate in Parent Council projects.

Within the school we provide community-based support in the form of ideas, opinions and advise on educational issues that affect our children. We also support those ideas monitarily through our fundraising initiatives. All actions of the council are operated within the context of the Education Act and its Regulations and Board Policy.
